Lucky and I just announced our fourth pregnancy!
The overwhelming wave of nervousness that hit me every time I thought about announcing, held me back for months. What would people have to say? How would they react? How would that impact my emotional state? All these questions kept floating around in my mind only quietly whispered to Lucky when I thought he’d fallen asleep. But he never was, he pulled me closer and told me all that mattered was how WE felt.
But how did I feel? It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions. From being in complete shock when I found out, to questioning how I would balance a newborn and my workload, to struggling because I know what’s waiting for me postpartum. Nonetheless, through all those harder emotions I felt joy. A spark of excitement that grew and grew as my body worked to create life. As my body changed and my pants stopped buttoning, I knew that this baby was meant for our family.
I thought Whimsy Lou was my last. I documented her pregnancy more, soaked up all her kicks inside my swollen belly, surrendered to bringing her into this world and cried when she got her first tooth. She was my last baby. Or so I thought…
