I’m Going on Tour with a Friend and our New Book!

I’m thrilled to announce the North American, UK and Ireland tour dates for END TIMES FASCISM - and the Fight for the Living World. Astra and I will be visiting fifteen cities in four countries in a little over a month. It’s going to be exciting, hectic and of course, tiring. But because I’ll be doing it with my friend and co-author Astra Taylor, it’s going to feel like a road trip.

Astra and I get to have strategy sessions before hostile interviews, pool restaurant research in new cities, and have rolling discussions about onstage fashion. (Granted, the last two items on that list will mostly involve Astra trying to turn me vegan and me trying to make her care about coordinating outfits.)

There are lots of reasons to recommend co-authorship, especially with someone as fabulous as Astra Taylor. For one, we like each other, so we can have fun after writing all day. For another, each of us knows things the other doesn't, which saves time. Also, when one of us hits a wall, the other can tag in, a lifesaver. Most of all: these fascists are scary as hell, but they are less scary when you have a friend by your side.

When we face monsters with friends, we don’t just get scared–we get mad, we get motivated, and we get organized. This is how we imagine our book events going. We’re going to get together in really big (and medium) rooms with lots of friends, talk about the end times creeps, and see what kind of power we can conjure to fight for the living world against them! This will be more than a book tour: there will be video, guest cameos and maybe a little song and dance, because that’s the joy we are fighting to protect. I hope you will join us.

End Times Fascism is coming out in a bunch of countries this fall, then a bunch more in the winter, and then a bunch more in the spring (so many cool covers, stay tuned for those). We won’t be able to be everywhere at once (I have a 14-year-old kid and a husband who insists on leading a national political party), but thanks to a village of friends, we'll be able to make it to a lot of somewheres.
