All I have been able to retain from Monday's recording session is the very vivid sensation of how three string magician/musicians could form such a dynamic trio as to stimulate truly uninhibited dialog with the piano.
This can happen only when the ears of each player are attentive and responsive to every element of the sound in the room, as opposed to every note on the piece of paper. We were entirely unrestrained in terms of "interpretation," a term which, to me, is utterly meaningless.
