In a milestone session the Tonal Refraction Ensemble (Dibble, Eggar, myself) plus guest violinist Nikita Yermak, spent roughly one delicious hour sight-reading the Mozart E-flat Piano Quartet, a work none of us had ever played before in any circumstance: indeed, a work which is rarely performed.
It is in every respect outrageous: too long, too difficult, too stretching of conventional Classical musical logic on all fronts: tonal, metric, structural.
