Thought about building trust this week. And realised, that trust is rarely built in a single moment.

It forms slowly. Through patterns. Through repeated behaviour.

Through what we say, and what we consistently do.

Here are a few words that stayed with me this week.

“Walk the Talk” (English phrase)

To act in alignment with what you say.

It sounds straightforward. But it requires discipline.

Because people don’t just listen to words. They observe behaviour.

And over time, the two must match.

Insight: Credibility is built when words and actions align.

Consistency

The ability to show up in the same way over time.

Not occasionally. Not when it’s convenient.

But repeatedly.

In communication, consistency creates trust. Because it reduces uncertainty.

Insight: Trust grows when behaviour becomes predictable.

Fika (Swedish)

A cultural practice of taking time to pause, connect, and build relationships.

Not rushed. Not transactional. But intentional.

In many ways, trust is built in these in-between moments — not just formal interactions.

Insight: Relationships strengthen through consistent, everyday connection.

A thought to carry into the weekend:

Trust is not built in what we say once. It is built in what we do repeatedly.

Which of these stayed with you?
