I love her meaning of ‘grace’, particularly for its Biblical meaning —God’s love and kindness to all humanity — but also for the traditional connotations: showing love and caring for all human beings and building up community together (which is something Nameberry truly does so well for me and many others).

My personal favorite connection for Anne, however, comes from my favorite heroine of all times, Anne of Green Gables. The whole Anne series, especially its fifth instalment, Anne’s House of Dreams, has played a huge role in my life, teaching me optimism and to look for the silver lining in every situation, the immense power of imagination, finding a balance between morals and principles, empathy and compassion, a striving towards stepping into others’ shoes even when it’s difficult, the value of healthy ambition, the force of true friendship, and so much more! The love story between Anne and Gilbert is also just so immensely beautiful and definitely changed my outlook on love in general as well as leading me to countless other romantic stories.

While the name Anne was seen as plain for a while, I think she’s certainly ready for a comeback — the perfect mixture of elegance and simplicity, just like her namesake!
