Indiana War Memorials
During my trip to downtown Indianapolis, I visited three war memorials: Soldiers & Sailors Monument, Indiana War Memoiral and the Medal of Honor Memorial. Two of those monuments were under construction, but I managed to capture some pictures.
Indiana Statehouse
These photographs were captured during my visit to the Indiana Statehouse (State Capitol building) on July 27, 2026. I've visited this building a couple of times before, so this is a collection of only the most recent captures.
Union Station Indianapolis
I captured these photographs of the historic Union Station in downtown Indianapolis in late July, 2026. Amtrak still operates some trains through this station, but the sections of the building that I photographed are no longer used for passenger transportation. The Grand Hall is currently used for events such as wedding receptions and conventions.

Crawford Rodeo

Small Nebraska Towns
I visited a number of small Nebraska towns during this road trip. These towns included Valentine (population 2,633), Crawford (population 840), and Chadron (population 5,206). I've included a couiple of pictures from Kearney even though it is not considered small by Nebraska standards with a population of 33,790.
1880 Town
1880 Town in located in Midland, South Dakota. The town is made of over 30 original historic buildings gathered from across South Dakota, complete with authentic period artifacts.
Rodeo Practice 5/27/26
While in Valentine, Nebraska on May 27, 2026, I stopped by the Cherry County Fairgrounds to see if there was anything going on. Two high school girls (twin sisters) were practicing for an upcoming rodeo competition. Omaha
I arrived in Omaha on Day 2 of my raod trip and left on Day 4. All of these photographs were captured within walking distance of my hotel in downtown Omaha.
Other Iowa Sites
I came across these scenes on the second day of my road trip while driving from Des Moines to Omaha.
High Trestle Trail Bridge
This pedestrian bridge is located near Madrid, Iowa. It's about 25 miles north of Des Moines. The bridge is 1/2 mile long and rises 150 feet above the Des Moines River.
World's Largest Truck Stop
This truck stop in Walcott, Iowa spans 225 acres and accommodates 900 semi-trucks. It also features a large food court, 24 private showers, a barbershop, a chiropractor, a dentist, a workout room and a movie theater. There's also a massive Super Truck showroom (for parts and accessories) and a convenience store that sells everything from electronics to souvenirs. Additionally, there's a 7-bay…

African Painted Dogs
I visited the Brookfield Zoo Chicago on April 13, 2026 and spent most of my time at the African painted dogs exhibit. The exhibit housed ten pups that were born on November 25, 2025--and so were just four months old.
Sandhill Cranes Trip Favorites
In late March, 2026, I drove to Nebraska to witness the sandhill crane migration. This is one of the greatest migrations on the planet and there were 450,000 cranes in the area during my visit. Sandhill Cranes
The main purpose of my trip was to witness the migration of the sandhill cranes. During my time along the Platte River, approximately 450,000 cranes were in the area. I was blessed with some interesting cloud formations and great colors. I enjoyed photographing various flying formations of the cranes as well.
