Happy July 4th to you, wherever you are! This roundup is going to focus entirely on this birthday! Here’s a short piece from me running this morning at The Dispatch, reflecting on the meaning of this anniversary for me as an immigrant and a naturalized citizen. I’m not originally from this country, but I’m very grateful to have ended up here.
This morning, as I’m hitting send on this, soon Daniel K. Williams and I will pack up our kids and prepare to head out to Ashland’s fabulous kids’ parade—a glorious annual tradition, in which children get to ride their bikes, scooters, or whatever other things on wheels as part of the city’s July 4th parade.
