This past week, thanks to your paid subscriptions, I was able to donate to both the Asha School in Kathmandu, Nepal, and to the Naari Shakti (Strong Women) empowerment program in New Delhi, India.
In Kathmandu, the money is going to sports coaching for the students, and in Delhi, we are buying sewing machines. The women are learning sewing skills very fast. They need a few more advanced sewing machines, better than the basic ones they started training on. The goal is for the women to start producing market-quality clothing and bags that they can sell to the public.
So thank you so much for your support! To give you an idea, a good-quality sewing machine costs US$150. A yearly subscription to my blog is $80, so for every two people who subscribe, we can buy a sewing machine. The women have never had a proper job before, so this is a huge step towards economic self-support. What it does to their self-esteem is hard to describe.
A huge thank you! If you can, please consider becoming a paid subscriber. The money goes a long way and makes a real difference in people’s lives!
