On Sunday, June 14th, we have a powerful New Moon in Gemini. While the moon will appear to be lightless in the sky, it is at its closest point to the Earth in its elliptical orbit, called a perigee moon. During this time, the moon’s gravity has a stronger hold on the Earth, causing higher tides and stronger pulls on the waters of our bodies.

New Moons are for planting seeds of intention. In Gemini, our intentions for connection, communication, and learning are at the forefront. Is there a writing project you’ve been meaning to begin? A skill you’ve been meaning to learn or teach? A community you’ve wanted to begin? A message you’ve been waiting to hone?

Ruled by Mercury, which is currently in the sign of Cancer, Sunday’s New Moon invites us to consider the relationship between our sensitivity and all things Gemini.

What connections make us feel safe? What local community projects and activities feel like shelter? What writing practices help us understand how we feel and what we need to feel secure?
