We begin the month in Cancer Season - a season of care, nurturing, psychic sensitivity, and sheltering ourselves and each other with an instinctive desire to create safety for those we love.

This is a sign that honors the past.

We end the month with an Aquarius full moon - opening to a vision that is collective in nature, a sign that is designed to create futures, one that asks for distance instead of the warm intimacy of a Cancer moon.

We are being stretched to honor what our waters carry - the memory of our lives and our lineages, and all they need to feel cared for. And the knowing that our future holds great surprise. An opportunity to rewire our nervous systems to be more empathic, connected, and collective. But all progress leaves something behind.

On Tuesday, July 14th, we have a new moon in the morning hours if you’re on the East Coast of the United States. As the Sun and Moon meet (which is what happens to create a new moon), Mercury, still retrograde, is nearby. Fresh off the heels of a Mercury Cazimi (when Mercury meets the Sun), we have some clarity in our hearts from reflecting over the weekend about what kind of care we need, and what kind of care we have to give.

The backdrop of this month is revolutionary. With all the outer planets at 4 degrees of each other in air and fire signs, there is an acute call to usher in a collective consciousness shift.

As our collective consciousness expands, we need greater care for our vessels, greater trust in the big picture, and greater skill at remembering what actually matters when all the little details of life we so badly want to control don’t come to fruition in the way we would prefer.

Cancer is a sign concerned with what we need to feel secure, our emotions, and our ability to nurture ourselves and one another.
