Hi loves,
Your August Everyday Witchery guide is here!
Yes, she is arriving fashionably late. Was she meant to be here at the beginning of the month, hair brushed and altar dusted? Absolutely. Did August immediately kick the door open with heat, chaos, back-to-school whispers, Mercury acting like a haunted stapler, and the general sensation of time being a greased watermelon rolling downhill? Also yes, yes and yes. Ya’ll, this month has already been kicking my butt.
So, because this guide is arriving a little later than planned, I’m including an extra little gift for you: a simple August sip’tual recipe to help you cool down (why is it SOOOOO FUCKING HOT!), come back to yourself, and make late-summer magic feel a little easier to hold.
A tiny magical apology beverage, if you will 🫶Very official. Very sacred. Most definitely delicious.
This month’s Everyday Witchery guide is built around the energy of August: heat, harvest, thresholds, and tiny daily practice. August is still very much summer in it’s absolute prime. The sun is loud. The days are hot. Everything feels a little overgrown, overstimulated, and somehow both slow and rushed at the same time.
But August also carries the first whisper of the turn. Lughnasadh brought us into first harvest energy. The season starts asking what has grown, what we are gathering, what still needs tending, and what we are quietly ready to stop carrying. Back-to-school energy begins to creep in around the edges. Routines start knocking on the door. The year starts shifting, even if the weather is still acting like a dramatic oven goblin, the shift has begun.
That is why August magic does not need to be one more thing to keep up with. It can be a return point like a magical anchor to your sanity.
This guide is not here to boss you around. It’s not a spiritual chore chart or a daily practice with a whistle and a clipboard, demanding to know why you skipped Tuesday. Absolutely not. We don’t need our magic becoming another micromanaging supervisor. She may take her laminated expectations and sit quietly in the shade (and shut the fuck up).
The August Everyday Witchery guide is here to give you one tiny magical option each day. Something simple. Something seasonal. Something you can use, adapt, simplify, skip, circle back to, or completely ignore until the exact moment your spirit says, wait, I need that one.
That is the whole point of Everyday Witchery.
Inside this month’s guide, you’ll find little practices for late-summer magic: cooling rituals, harvest reflections, threshold moments, candle work, kitchen witchery, grounding, protection, and simple ways to reconnect with your craft when life is loud. Some practices take less than a minute. Some are meant to help you pause. Some are there to help you notice what has grown. Some are for crossing from one part of your day into another without dragging every bit of stress through the doorway with you.
August is a threshold month, and threshold months can feel strange.
You may feel like you’re still in summer mode, but also already preparing for the next thing. You may feel energized one day and completely melted the next. Don’t stress, Witch, we are there with you. The pull toward Autumn is strong, but hold tight, we aren’t quite ready to release summer yet.
And because I’m late getting this into your hands, here is your extra little August Sip’tual gift to all my paid subscribers, along with the August Everyday Witchery guide and the August Phone backgrounds to enjoy!
To my paid subscribers: thank you. Truly, deeply, most sincerely, thank you.
Your support is what allows me to keep creating these monthly guides, rituals, meditations, workshops, graphics, sip’tuals, and all the little pieces of Everyday Witchery we build together. Every subscription helps keep this space alive and growing, and I’m so grateful you’re here.
If you’re an unpaid subscriber peeking in and thinking, wait, I want the late-summer spell guide and magical apology beverage too, this is the kind of seasonal support paid subscribers receive: practical witchcraft, simple guides, downloadable magic, moon rituals, monthly practices, and little spells that are meant to be used in actual life, not just admired from a distance like a fancy broom you’re scared to touch.
