The Pisces Full Moon Lunar Eclipse Aug 28th

On the 28th of August, we are entering a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Pisces. It’s officially eclipse season! As always, I’ve got you covered—in today’s lesson, let’s deep-dive into this eclipse, why you should (and shouldn’t) cast magic during it, and what spells to work with if you choose to get casting.

I’ll be honest, I love eclipse energy. The transformations, the acceleration! I’m 100% here for it. This August we’ve been blessed with triad of cosmic events: a solar eclipse, the meteor shower, and now this lunar eclipse.

It’s hard to keep up!

With this eclipse falling along the Virgo-Pisces axis, things are more than likely going to get a bit emotional for us all. Illusions are dissolved, what no longer serves us is stripped away, and we are propelled onto our true soul path. While the solar eclipse earlier this month brought new beginnings, this lunar eclipse is clearing out the dead shit so that those new beginnings actually have the space to grow.

Eclipses have a bit of a habit of radically rearranging our lives, which is why they feel mentally and emotionally charged. But that rearrangement is essential. It brings opportunities to close outgrown chapters, offer clean slates, and transform impossible situations.

For anyone needing a quick refresher on this event: the lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth moves directly in between the Sun and the Moon, blocking sunlight from reaching the moon’s surface. Basically, causing it to momentarily visually disappear. While our usual full moon brings revelations or natural climaxes, an eclipse speeds this shit up - often forcing an ending and a beginning at the exact same time. Hence why it may get a lil emotional! But at the end of the day, it’s for our greatest good. With the Moon in Pisces, those long-buried feelings or unresolved grudges will surface to finally be sorted.

Technically, an eclipse is a brief blackout of the moon’s light—an interference with the light (obvs). In a nutshell means that the eclipse can bring in unpredictable and chaotic energy. Because these events are ruled by fate and karma, the Universe steers us in a particular direction (where you’ve always belonged), whether you want to or not.

Reasons why witches sometimes avoid shellwork:

• It can be a little unpredictable. The intentions we set during an eclipse can manifest in unexpected or even messy ways because the energy is all over the place.

• Fate Takes Over. The universe is already doing the heavy lifting for us. Sometimes when we try to micro-manage the universe, it can feel like a never ending battle. Sitting back and relaxing is sometimes the easiest way.

• It’s kinda draining tbh. Eclipse energy can leave us feeling very tired and emotionally all over the place, which in turn makes spell work feel more of an effort.
