Interesting conversation clip shared by MarkSD! It makes me think the ‘Cast Your Pole’ in the poem will be a ‘movie like ending’!

Transcript from Seeker’s Summit Book Panel:

Tyler (Justin’s childhood friend on panel) was asked:

  • QUESTION: So Tyler, if you were a searcher who never met Justin, what’s one thing you know about him that you think would have been important to understand and would have made reading this book and understanding his hunt easier? Something about him that would make the hunt easier.

ANSWER: He is very into the Indiana Jones style of puzzles, I would say. I guess I would say… those are probably some of your favorite movies. Would you say Indiana Jones? (looking to Jusin)

Justin: They’re great movies. They’re certainly in the top 10.

Tyler: And you put it right on the website that you’re an Indiana Jones guy. I think that Justin has thought very deeply and spent years as a searcher for Forrest Fenn, always thinking, “Am I going to hide a treasure someday?” And so I think that he has spent an inordinate amount of time on whatever puzzles are in the book, whatever puzzles are in the poem, and that there will be a very thoughtful solution that will be, I think, a lot more satisfying.

I thought that the Forrest Fenn, if it is Nine Mile Hole, I think that was sort of a letdown. I’m very disappointed in who the Home of Brown was, for example. That was such a huge - that was like the pivot point of the poem - and it ended up just being a fish that he named when he was a kid that has no help at all to finding the thing.

But I don’t think Justin would do something like that. I think he would—and I don’t know anything about where the treasure is—but I will just say I think that it will be a lot more thoughtful, and the end will be surprising. Like, when you find it, I feel like it will be sort of like a movie-like ending to the hunt. That’s what I think it would be like.

Such great insight from Tyler on the hunt. I think many of us have felt this, and it seems confirmed. If the ending (or finding the checkpoint) isn’t something unique/satisfying - it might not be correct.

I’m currently working on quite a few posts - for There’s Treasure Inside. Be on the lookout for them in the week to come!

Next Saturday - the 29th at 2PM - the Hope Chest Hoe Down begins! All invited to this searchers Meet & Greet featuring a Q/A with Cris Dotson (on The Hope Chest Hunt 50K) (Discussions/ More Information on the MW FORUM)

Location:

Bullitt County VFW
1979 Hwy 44 W,
Shepherdsville, KY 40165

Another peek at some treasures being awarded:

In the Treasure Chest (for the hunt taking place that day) will be a Marble Display Case filled with Artisan Marbles - among many other treasure items!

See you there!

The Treasure Hunting Community Calendar is continually updated - it’s ever changing - since the hobby is active and ever changing!

(Have something to add? contact MW!) - Treasure Hunt Calendar ( Also on MW website)

New on the calendar this week:

  • The Most Dangerous Games - Hunt/Puzzle competition launching Sept. 1st (see above)

  • Monthly Full Armchair Hunts created by TreasureFix.com

I’ve added the monthly TREASUREFIX hunts in ‘Additional Notes’ - so not to repeat these every month. (screenshot below)

What are they?

Each month - TreasureFix.com releases a new puzzle hunt that can be solved from home - and has a guaranteed ending the last day of the month. Shared or First Finder bounties. The TF August Hunt remains unsolved (as of this moment). Check them out!

I haven’t added these hunts on the calendar yet. Numerous times per year these puzzle hunts - free to play - are posted on the MW Forum.

Currently, there is a hunt - Little Boxes - that remains unsolved. Check it out here.

These hunts are periodic, posted randomly, and are solved relatively quickly. So to place on a calendar isn’t ideal. However, I want you to know about them - they are awesome hunts!

I will be working on making a place for these types of hunts in the coming weeks!

Each week, I share the latest treasure hunt news, insights, discoveries, events, and clues to help you stay connected to the hunt and the growing community of seekers.

Thanks for being part of the adventure!
