August 18, 2026: Stewarding What God Has Already Put in Your Hands - Δ Delta 7 Women

This was part of my prayer a few mornings ago, reading through 2 Chronicles 34 through 36.

I told God I was thankful for the vehicle He’d blessed us with, for our home, for where we live, for the work He’d given us to do. And then I asked Him to forgive me for complaining about my job.

BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT

Stewarding what God has given you means being thankful for it even when it’s hard, and asking Him for solutions instead of just sitting in the complaint.

SCRIPTURE

“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’”

Matthew 25:23 (ESV)

THE LESSON

Yes, there’s a lot of work. Yes, we need another person. Yes, I am overwhelmed. I said all of that to God plainly, because it was true, and I needed Him to help me be thankful in spite of the challenges, not thankful instead of naming them.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”

Colossians 3:23 (ESV)

I asked Him for ideas and insight on how to overcome the obstacles at work, how to bring fresh ideas on managing the flow of the work, how to present our case to the doctors that we needed another full-time person. I asked Him to help me find solutions to the situation rather than just sitting and complaining about it. Those solutions could only come from Him, and I told Him that plainly too.

“Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.”

1 Corinthians 4:2 (ESV)

That’s what stewardship actually looks like most days. It isn’t managing a fortune. It’s managing an overwhelming job, a full inbox, a short-staffed office, and choosing to bring God the problem instead of just carrying the complaint around all day. What He put in my hands wasn’t easy. It was still His, and still worth being faithful over.

Name one thing in your life that overwhelms you right now. Ask God for one solution instead of one more complaint.

You do not have to love every part of what God has given you to steward. You have to be faithful over it.

Bring Him the obstacle. Ask for the insight. Do the next right thing with what is already in your hands.

PRAYER

Father God, thank You for the vehicle You’ve blessed us with, for our home, for where we live, for the work You’ve given us to do.

Forgive me for complaining about my job instead of bringing it to You. Forgive me for sitting in frustration instead of asking for wisdom.

Help me to find solutions instead of just carrying complaints. Help me to be thankful in spite of the challenges, and faithful over everything You’ve already put in my hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
