Introducing B-Side Parents

Something I’ve been quietly working on for the past month came to life yesterday. A continuation of my new DJ set series Little Frequencies and a way to bring Music Club to IRL.

Introducing B-Side Parents, Austin’s community for parents who still love good music. Think morning hangs, DJ sets, kids welcome. Just because you have kids doesn’t mean your music taste has to suffer. You can only listen to the Frozen Soundtrack so many times.

B-Side Sessions No. 1 was the launch event. An outdoor hang at our home with 40+ adults, 15+ kids, local sponsors, bubble machine, coloring station, and two hours of really good music. I had good feelings heading into it and it was a success!

As Music Club members, you get to hear both sets first :) And don’t let the parent label deter you from listening if you aren’t a parent. These sets are for adults, but appropriate to play around kids if you happen to have them.

Little Frequencies Vol. 02 by Abstract

Austin dad, MC member & DJ Abstract opened things with deep and melodic house. Perfect for the 9-10am slot.

Little Frequencies Vol. 03 by Music Club

I closed things out 10-11am with lots of feel-good uplifting house music.
