Allison Brennan · Allison Brennan: Murder She Writes

I hope to see you there!

I’m giving away a special book bag (while supplies last) and there will door prizes, treats, and champagne. I’ll be chatting about publishing, writing, and my newest book Make it Out Alive, which will be available for purchase at the Pen.

My first book The Prey came out in January, 2006 and three weeks later hit the New York Times extended bestseller list. I have been writing full-time ever since, and am grateful that I love my job. (I’ll be giving away several copies of The Prey to a few lucky attendees on the 25th!)

It’s not always easy. There are ups and downs in publishing like in most professions. Sometimes, a series I love writing doesn’t sell well enough to continue, and sometimes a nasty review slaps at my ego. Sometimes life interferes with my writing time, or deadlines interfere with life. But the good far outweighs the bad.

I wrote an article a few years back “Lessons from 17 Hard Years of Easy Success” for those who want to know more about my career.

Next week I’ll be sharing more about the upcoming Quinn & Costa thriller, Make It Out Alive, including the story behind the story. But I hope to see you at the Poisoned Pen on January 25! If you can’t make it, the chat will be live-streamed through YouTube and Facebook. You can also pre-order a signed copy and they will ship anywhere in the world. Or you can go to my webpage to find links to everywhere you can buy the book.

Allison Brennan returns to her bestselling series with an edge-of-your-seat thriller that thrusts Quinn and Costa into the crosshairs of a sadistic serial killer.

Three newlywed couples have disappeared from an exclusive resort in Florida, only to turn up dead soon after. With the location and the similarities between the female victims as their only leads, it’s up to the FBI Mobile Response Team to catch a serial killer before anyone else ends up dead. And they have the perfect bait—Detective Kara Quinn, who bears an uncanny resemblance to the targeted women.

Undercover as newlyweds pretending to enjoy their honeymoon, Kara and FBI Agent Matt Costa set a flawless trap. When their plan works and they arrest the predator, Matt sends the rest of the team home so he and Kara can have the weekend for some much-needed R&R. But on Monday morning, the couple doesn’t show up to work, and the MRT learns they never checked out of their hotel.

As their team tries to find them, Matt and Kara learn the truth—the killer wasn’t acting alone. He had a partner who succeeded where he failed. Kidnapped and forced into a twisted escape room, they need to find a way out, because if they don’t escape, they’ll die.
