During a protest against police brutality, the Kenyan police shot Boniface Kariuki in the head. They seized time. We must construct an alternative theory of time that is disciplined by our demands.

If there is one phrase that grates my bones it is "good governance". This phrase, along with many others, represents the depoliticisation of public life in Kenya, and Africa more broadly.

If femicide is an extension of issues like unemployment, poverty, and underdevelopment, then femicide works to stabilise and consolidate the power of the political class. Femicide is un-solidarity.
