M Sorcier · Tales from the Goat Man

Hi there Goat Herd,

I’m thrilled to say I wrapped up the final pages of Sacrimony #9 a little over a week ago, almost two weeks ahead of the deadline I’d originally set for myself.

This past week has been a luxury I don’t usually get to have. Instead of racing to finish pages, I’ve been able to go back through the book, tighten up dialogue, redraw expressions that weren’t quite working and straight up redraw entire panels that had been bothering me. It’s been really satisfying to have the time to polish the book instead of simply crossing the finish line.

The funny thing is, there was a point where I genuinely wondered if this issue was ever going to exist.

I finished the last few pages of Sacrimony #8 during my first month of school back in April 2025. Now it’s July 2026. Looking back, it’s amazing how much happened in between. School took over my schedule, then came job hunting, then starting a completely new career. While I was training for that job, my dad became sicker and eventually passed away. After that came the challenge of adjusting to a new routine while trying to figure out where Sacrimony fit into my life. Or whether it still did at all.

I lost count of how many times I moved the launch date. First it was October 2025. Then maybe January. Then March. Then April. Then May.

Now the book is finished.

That means so much more to me than checking another issue off the list.

Finishing this book reminded me that Sacrimony still has a place in my life because I’ll always make room for it. Even when things get complicated, I keep finding my way back to these characters and this world. I love this story, and I love sharing it with all of you. Every page has been worth it.

More than anything, finishing #9 has me excited again. It feels like I’ve finally found my footing, and instead of wondering when I’ll get back to making comics, I’m already moving forward.

In fact... I’ve already started drawing the standard cover for Sacrimony #10 and I’ve already got one page inked.

It feels really good to be able to say that.

Thanks, as always, for reading, for following along, and for giving this weird fantasy world a place in your lives too.

Talk soon,
-M🖤
