the print club is back!

It was a very warm day in the studio, but it's a productive one too! Mostly because I decided to start up my print club again, yay! It took me the whole day to prepare for the newest edition of the STUDIO MALU CREW PRINT CLUB . I was so inspired by the solar eclipse we saw on Wednesday, that I worked on a series about it. And this series will be the first one I will send out. You get the sneak…

this was july

July was quite the month! D had her last days of school and then her 6 week summer holiday started. The weather was great! Almost every day 25+ degrees and some outliers up to 30 (and sometimes more). As far as my health was concerned, things became a bit more uncertain. The first week of the month I had a hand therapy session to see what was up with my wrist. And in those 3 remaining weeks I got…

week #32

➜ on Monday D and I had another craft project and made this littleartistsroom snake . ➜ the lump on my right index finger doubled in size in just one day, so I was happy I had a doctors appointment on Tuesday to finally figure out what to do with this. ➜ the doctor told me after examining me, I had to count on something rheumatic. but he left the blood testing and pictures to rheumatology in…

a heavy heart

My yearly solo city trip has started this morning and I’m sitting in the train, reading up on blogs. The first blog I clicked in the discovery is for the girl who needed a hug today . It’s the words that my head was trying to form but couldn’t (yet). I love when this happens. When an internet stranger somehow writes how something current in my life seems to feel. There have been more heavy hearts…

a quick health update

I figured I’d better write down how things are going right now, because who knows what my health will be like in a little while... I quickly forget how things were a few weeks ago, how symptoms were and how it all started. So this is mainly just for myself, to remember it all. During the week of my birthday in May, I went to see my family doctor; my wrist had been hurting for a while, and I really…

week #31

➜ last Saturday we drove up North for a short family vacation and our week started on Monday still at the holiday park. we planned some fun things for this day, since this would be our last full day here. ➜ it was a bit cloudly with some small showers in between, but nonetheless a great day for our plan. we drove to park Hoge Veluwe and biked around here the whole day. they have these typical…

week #30

➜ D was still at her sleepover at the grandparents in Germany on Monday, so I could start the week with an early morning weight lifting session. ➜ at 10 I went up to the studio to work on my half-timbered houses. and I made the first prototype of a new shaped card. ➜ I worked in my studio the whole day until 7 in the evening and loved every second of it! it was so long ago since I had a whole day…

week #29

➜ on Monday D’s 6 week summer break from school officially started and I felt like I needed a plan to fill our days at home together. so I got a subscription to thelittleartistsroom (which I wanted to try for years already!). ➜ we also filled our days with making puzzles, making mango cheesecake and drawing. ➜ after getting a thousand advertisements about the clothing brand halara and filling my…

zerbrechlichkeit

D called me the 3rd time this evening. the first time because she wanted to drink something. the second time because she heard weird noises and this time she said she couldn't sleep. this is probably very recognizable for most parents ;) we had a day that I cannot call easy or without struggle. so I was happy I could finally sit down and rest. when I went up the 3rd time, I could feel my body…

in all honesty..

It's day 3 of the 6 week school holiday for our little D. We are just at the start of the summer period, so we have a lot of time in front of us before school starts again. And every year it's the time of year I dread the most... I don't know how the summer is for other people, but for me it's the hardest time of the year. Being chronically ill, I need quite some time next to my work, to 'restore'…
