I walked through campus to the Chronicle offices, the quad mostly empty at such a late hour. As a staff member, I had special permission to work after curfew, one of the few perks of being a slave to the weekly grind.

So much had happened in the last few days that I still needed to get my bearings. I’d been thrust into a deeper mystery of the Bones and its shadowy dealings far more quickly than I’d imagined, and in doing so I’d been ensconced in more sex than I knew what to do with.
