What If Your Browser Could See? 🧠

I’ve been building something weird.

Something fast.

Something that runs *right where you are.*

No login. No setup. Just right-click… and images talk back.

👀 Imagine this:

You’re browsing the web.

You right-click any image.

And your browser gives you a caption like:

“A group of hikers crossing a rocky bridge near a waterfall.”

No big GPU. No paid subscription. Just your browser and a whisper of AI.

AI today is locked up in the cloud. Big servers. Bigger paywalls.

But that’s not where most people live.

We live at street level—in browsers, documents, chat windows, and tabs.

What if those tools were just a little bit smarter?

What if they respected your privacy, didn’t phone home, and worked *with* you—not around you?

That’s what I’m building.

It’s called SmolCaption—a lightweight Chrome extension that captions images on the spot.

Right now, it uses a cloud-hosted vision model.

But we’re already working on browser-native, offline-capable, privacy-first versions that don’t require sending your data anywhere.

You own your images.

You run the model.

You get the insight—without the surveillance.

The wires are still exposed. But it works.

And next week, I’ll share the first demo.

If you’re into weird little tools with big ideas behind them—

or just want a browser that understands what it’s looking at—

stay tuned.
