We’ve moved our newsletter to Substack. After several years of communicating via Mailchimp — and building a community of more than 600 readers — we wanted a platform that feels more like a conversation. Substack lets us combine essays, behind‑the‑scenes notes and open briefs in one feed while inviting you to comment and engage.
If you’re new to our work, here’s the shortest possible recap of what you missed: Over the past year, we premiered our underground documentary Movement as well as our series Another World at CPH:DOX 2025, moved deeper into production on the hybrid feature Milkweed, and celebrated the world premiere of our immersive VR experience Dark Rooms at the Venice Biennale 2025. Here’s an teaser that we released in conjunction with Dark Room’s Dutch premiere at Imagine Fest in Amsterdam last month:
We also continued to host dinners, workshops and gatherings in Berlin and Copenhagen.
That’s the recap. Everything else you need to know will unfold right here.
Going forward, this Substack will be more than a notice board. Here’s what you can expect:
1. Short essays and briefings on the future of distribution and audience‑building. We’re obsessed with how creative work actually finds its audience in a post‑platform era — from festivals serving as activation points to communities becoming the true distribution layer. Expect thought pieces grounded in our experiences across film, XR, fashion and live culture.
2. Behind‑the‑scenes dispatches from our ongoing projects like Dark Rooms, Another World, Milkweedand yet‑to‑be‑announced pieces. We’ll talk about creative choices, funding structures and the messy process of making new formats.
3. Invitations to events and collaborations. From live screenings and dinners to DJ sets and interactive playtests, this feed will be where we announce gatherings in our Berlin and Copenhagen hubs. We’ll also flag opportunities for shared desk space, co‑production and advisory conversations.
We’re also developing a new initiative called Audience Futures to dive deeper into the questions above. There will be a short live conversation with Severin Matusek from co–matter next week and a workshop in January that invites creators to rethink distribution and build audience architectures. For now we’ll simply say: mark your calendars — more details (and a joint announcement with Severin) will follow in a separate post.
Thank you for being part of our community. We’re excited to begin this new chapter on Substack and hope you’ll stick around.
