Morgan Hines · Getting Dressed for Dinner

I’ll be here for the fall fashion finds that seem to be dominating my feed in a few weeks—but I'm not ready to let go of summer quite yet.

And Banana Republic is offering an array of summer-forward pieces that are A) perfect for the current season and B) can be worn into the fall depending on how they are styled.

The brand kindly sent me a number of pieces to test and after wearing, I can safely say there are four I will wear on repeat.

The Tiered Cotton Poplin Maxi Skirt is a timeless, comfortable and lightweight piece that is perfect for this time of year. I’ve styled it with a tube top and statement necklace and had so much fun wearing the combination.

It would look equally as cute with an oversized sweater or denim jacket.

While I received this skirt in Red Tomato Paste—which I would dub as ideal for August wear—it’s also available in colorways that lean into a fall palette. Radicchio Burgundy-Brown and Twine Beige are enchanting and will remain versatile as the temperatures cool.

In Radicchio Burgundy-Brown, the Embroidered Linen Square-Neck Dress is flowy—tent-like in the best way.

It’s perfect for hot summer days, and can be dressed up or down. It could be worn just as easily to the farmers market with flat sandals and a tote as it could to a dinner out in the fall with tall heeled boots and a clutch.

Simply put, Banana Republic’s Linen Mini Dress is a chef’s kiss level little black dress for casual summer occasions.

With a trapeze-skirt, this dress is made with 100% certified-European linen. It’s super comfortable, flattering and can be worn from day-to-night. As temperatures drop, it would be just as adorable with a denim jacket and sneakers or ballet flats as it would with a kitten heeled sandal and some chunky jewelry.

Our late summer travel schedule is ramping up. My fiancé and I have spent recent weekends in Connecticut, took a five-day trip to Aruba and are headed to Philly at the end of the month.

On our trips, we’ve taken the Archive Reissue Small Duffel Bag in Woodland Taupe. It’s understated, unique and surprisingly spacious for a small duffel bag. I’m a tried-and-true overpacker—but my fiancé managed to easily fit a vacation’s worth of clothing along with extra pieces he didn’t even wear.

Created with cotton-jute canvas and suede, this bag is a piece I believe will never go out of style and it’s one I think will only look better with wear. It’s meant to be loved and used.
