I hope you are good!
I’ve taken a wee break (of sorts) from the blog over the summer. I’ve been busy with work, and my kids have been on school holidays since the end of June. Let’s just say my spare time has been in short supply!
I’ve prioritised Substack - so I’ve managed the two posts as normal here. And my kids go back to school in a few weeks, so next month will be business as usual.
I do have a couple of updates for you just now though:
Instead of blog posts to read, I really recommend going to a National Emergency Briefing screening if you can. I went along to a local screening this week, and I thought the film plus the facilitated discussion was pitched perfectly.
It was honest about the scale and impacts of climate change, but ended with ideas for action, which left me feeling motivated rather than overwhelmed.
After the film, as a group, we had a constructive conversation about what we can do next, and I felt it created a real sense of connection and shared purpose that you just don't get from watching a documentary at home. Totally recommend!
I’ve recently discovered a feature in Google, where you can add Moral Fibres as a preferred source. This means if you search for something in Google, it’s more likely to show relevant posts from Moral Fibres in your results.
To set up preferred sources, use this direct link, and tick Moral Fibres as a preferred source. You can also add any other sites that you would prefer to see search results from - just use the search box to find your favourite sites and tick the box beside them. You can add as many or as few as you like.
In July, I shared two exclusive articles for paid subscribers:
Over the years, I’ve found that the hardest part about consuming less isn’t finding sustainable alternatives. It’s learning to ignore all the messages telling us we need more.
If you feel the same, then in this post I’ve shared how I’m learning to resist impulse purchases, as well as ignore the pressure to constantly upgrade, and make more intentional choices.
Here I’m sharing 5 things loosely related to sustainability that I’m finding joy in at the moment, because we all need a little bit of joy in our lives.
If you’d like to read these exclusive articles, all past articles, and future ones (I send out two a month), then you can upgrade your subscription here:
Thanks so much for reading - have a lovely August, and I’ll see you in September when I am back at full capacity!
And for paid subscribers, you’ve got two exclusive articles coming your way on the 7th and 21st August. See you then!
PS: If a subscription isn’t for you, please consider buying me a virtual coffee to support the site's running costs. Your small donation makes a huge impact in keeping it running.
