Welcome back!

Today I am going to analyze the upcoming lunar eclipse on March 3rd, which will be correct now that I have definitely not swapped Rahu and Ketu’s positions like last time. Let’s get started.

This Lunar Eclipse is a Full Moon, which differs from a solar eclipse because the Moon is illuminated—but partially obscured by the Earth’s shadow. Astrology is observational, so this detail matters. The shadow is what gives a lunar eclipse its signature red hue, which in interpretation reflects the collective unconscious being projected into the sky and made visible to us.

Since this Moon is conjunct with Ketu, we are especially going to be in contact with inherited, intergenerational psychic material. When we are talking about the sign of Leo, where the Moon and Ketu are transiting, we are especially going to be concerned with traditions and dynastic patterns of behavior regarding power and leadership in society. I am sure this is unsurprising given the state of global politics recently, but I want to bring the scale down to the individual here because that is where we have control over our choices and own behaviors.

Ketu conjunct the Full Moon brings conflicting energy: Full Moons are great for indulging desires and initiating projects, while Ketu promotes withdrawal, disinterest, and reflection. Around this time, you might feel:

  • A desire to pursue goals or express yourself, but feeling limited or having difficulty perceiving the way forward.

  • Heightened intuition: Ketu-Moon conjunctions enhance psychic perception. You may receive intuitive insights about your role as a leader, particularly wherever Leo falls in your chart. These could highlight opportunities you’ve overlooked due to limiting beliefs.

  • Doubts about how you fit in your environment, amplified by the Sun’s weakness in Aquarius.

  • It is a good idea to take things slow and to return to basics, listening to cues from your body that are unmistakable. If you feel hungry, go eat. If you feel tired, lie down. Sometimes we try and negotiate with our bodies and override our physiological needs in the pursuit of achievement and fulfilling our desires. It’s important to consider whether success feels as satisfying when we are tired and overworked.

Sun-Rahu in Aquarius brings intense cravings for recognition and standing out as an individual. The Sun in detriment creates discomfort, even though it aspects Leo positively. You might feel a lack of confidence or alienation among your associated groups and networks, which intensifies desires for validation and authority.

Technology and social media are especially highlighted. Ask yourself: What is the degree to which you are using these tools to enhance your decision-making vs using them as a crutch to avoid responsibility for making choices as an autonomous individual? Are your digital habits connecting you authentically, or feeding overstimulation and loneliness? How you use these technologies can further feed feelings of lack rather than fulfill them, and it is up to you to set limits on how you engage with the world around you.

Remember: The lunar nodes are shadowy, distorting points. When they are activated during eclipses, they are attacking the luminary planets Sun and Moon. The luminaries are how we access light and illuminate clear information and perception. This is why it is heavily advised to never make serious or permanent decisions during eclipses and to focus on tending to yourself until the “storm” passes.

Mars and Mercury (retrograde) in Aquarius join Rahu and the Sun:

  • Mars amplifies desire for power, recognition, and success.

  • There can be feelings of frustration over a lack of fulfillment, and it can come out as sharp and aggressive language.

  • Mercury governs the way we conceptualize or narrate our lives to ourselves and there is a vulnerability in this transit towards self-victimization and justifying entitled behavior. Double check your reality and choose words wisely before acting from frustration—some conflicts are not worth engaging.

  • Expect tech to malfunction during this time.

Venus in Pisces with Saturn

  • Everyone clap your hands for Venus and Saturn, they are having a good time together while everyone else is frustrated and confused.

  • Venus in exaltation lends support to Saturn.

  • Material comforts, beauty, and love feel slightly easier to access, even amidst the eclipse tension and malfeasance of Saturn.

  • Be mindful of inflated expectations—Venus exalted is highly idealistic, though Saturn’s influence can help mitigate (through delivering disappointment).

Jupiter retrograde in Gemini

  • Jupiter aspects Aquarius, highlighting humanitarian ideals and broader awareness.

  • Retrograde prompts a review of the sources of your teachings—from education to philosophies to personal gurus.

  • Gemini governs information, media, and news cycles, so discernment is key. Question the origins of the knowledge you trust.

  • Example: Many are aware that the philosophical origins of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) are of the Behaviorist movement in psychology. This movement was spearheaded by BF Skinner, a man who performed cruel experiments on animals and believed that consciousness doesn’t exist. It doesn’t necessarily mean CBT should be completely disregarded, but understanding this background explains why some people do not feel that CBT goes “deep enough” to heal psychological wounds and reveals the limitations of its therapeutic application. This same caution should be applied to political theories and ideologies. It is incredibly important to be aware of the unconscious Shadow driving the philosophies that we have become identified with, and these transits help bring these details into conscious awareness.

  1. Listen to your body and instincts—rest, eat, and slow down.

  2. Trust intuition—Ketu-Moon heightens psychic perception; pay attention to leadership insights in your own life.

  3. Check technology habits—use digital tools consciously; avoid overstimulation.

  4. Avoid major decisions—nodes disrupt clarity during eclipses.

  5. Review belief systems—Jupiter retrograde encourages discerning the sources of your knowledge and teachings.
