Goodbye April, and hello May! This month moved faster than I could really process - so I don’t have anything especially profound to say this time around. But I made a promise to show up here once a month, and I’m keeping to it.
In no order in particular, here is a peek into the whirlwind that made up my April.
I’m happy to say that I followed through on last month’s goal of making more time for creative exploration. Lately, I’ve been drawn to curved forms and have been trying to build a sense of movement into metal.
One of my favorite outcomes is the ring on the right. I love how it feels fluid, and how the form shifts depending on which side is on top. It’s already found a home with a friend.

The gap between the behind-the-scenes and market day is… very real.
Even after almost a year of doing markets, the prep still sneaks up on me. This time I was determined to make a new booth sign, and though I would love to say that it was meticulously planned out, the reality is that I was still frantically hair-drying the paint the night before the market…
But then the market happens, and it makes all the chaotic nights and early mornings worth it. It’s such a gratifying feeling to meet people and see how much joy my jewelry brings.
A highlight: my first successful stone-set ring found a home! I set a lapis lazuli cabochon into my seed pod ring - it’s pictured on the left, on the pinky of the lovely person who took it home.
I recently got pictures and videos back from my last Carve & Sip - taken by my talented friend Gian. This workshop was technically not this month, but I’m going to include it anyways since these photos are too beautiful not to share :)
This was my biggest independent workshop to date, and I’m really proud of how smoothly it went!
A quick shout-out to Athylia - she attended one of my early Philly workshops last year, and then came back to help out with this one. I truly couldn’t have done it without her. It’s been so meaningful to see how these spaces turn strangers into friends - not just for participants, but for me too.
And here are two batches of workshop rings that I finished this month! On the left are pieces from the Carve & Sip above, and on the right are ones from my March RecCreate workshop. Each one is so unique - I love helping you guys materialize your ideas into physical form.
And from last weekend: a quiet, peaceful moment before my April RecCreate workshop… immediately followed by getting caught in a rainstorm on my way home.
Another moonkat milestone: I hosted my first private workshop - a bachelorette party!
It was unexpected, and such an honor to be thought of. It was also very different from my usual workshops, and I learned a lot from the experience.
Because of the logistics, I’ll likely only take on a few private events each year - but if you’re planning something (team-building event, birthday, etc) feel free to reach out! I’d love to see if we can create something special.

Still a few tickets left! It’s Mother’s Day - could be a really sweet mother-daughter activity :)
May 15 [Philly] - Carve & Sip ring workshop at Persimmon Coffee!
These are always some of my favorite workshops - intimate, cozy, and (arguably the best part) unlimited cafe drinks and pastries
May 29 [NYC] - Stay in Bloom night market
My first time vending at night - I’m very curious to see how it feels compared to daytime markets
May 30 [NYC] - AC*E Pop-up
I maaay have said yes to a few too many things this month… but that’s the beauty of running my own business - it’s all a learning experience. I’ll do my best to survive and see you back here for May’s recap.
