When you don’t know what to wear, wear white.
It's not the most original piece of advice, but it is the one I rely on the most during the summer, and it also removes about 90% of the decision-making involved when getting dressed. Whether the day ahead is full or empty or somewhere in between, or has completely changed three times before 10 am, white somehow works with and for everything.
If you’re reading this thinking, “but isn’t wearing one colour a bit boring?” I’d argue that’s where the fun starts.
Starting with a good base: RLT cotton cashmere tee and a flowing skirt from Zara
And now we build…
Ray-Ban Wayfarers. The it-girl sunglasses for a reason
Smoothing air-dry cream for a little zhuzh, the Rhode Pocket Brush, and Merit Lip Blush in September. You can, of course, always offset a look with nail polish
The Attersee Brea Bag, which I've mentioned many times before. Especially in the Jacquard. And if you're after an evening bag, this one from Cabana Magazine is so good
Earrings from Jessica McCormack, dreamy
Clear flip-flops. My most-worn summer shoes
Mansur Gavriel ballerina flats that go with everything
Some good dresses
A few more good pieces:
Not white, but worth making an exception for
The Daniel gauze shirt from All Three is a firm favourite
Kyoto pants from Leset
A good bag find for a great price
Ralph Lauren pyjamas - run if you’re a size medium
Here's to easy dressing
