every woman is a creative force.

when a woman enters into my world, the phrase she’s been repeating to herself over and over is:

“there has to be more than this.”

and when i ask her what more looks like she’ll share any number of responses. maybe it’s more autonomy over her time. more love. more expansive relationships. more travel. more health and vitality. more money. more beauty throughout her days.

but what i’ve found is that the same thing is always underneath her desire for more.

when a woman is craving more and wondering, “is this it?”, what she’s actually missing is the connection to herself, to her aliveness, and to her innate nature as an active creator of her life.

the space in her schedule, balance in her bank account, appearance of her body, quality of her relationships, and depth of her experiences are reflections of how fully she’s inhabiting, or isn’t inhabiting, her own life as a creative force.

one of my biggest qualms with modern day spirituality and the wellness industry is the insufferable narrative shoved in women’s faces trying to convince us that we need to constantly be fixing, improving, or healing something. i’ve been there and i’ve also seen many women invest heavily into every modality, session, course, and consume non-stop self-help content only to find themselves feeling even more disconnected, confused, and unhappy. farther and farther away from themselves and their innate fierce power and ferocious hunger for life.

these systems are designed to keep you in a loop of never feeling good enough. because that keeps you chained to being a good little consumer. and a woman who locates her worth in consumption rather than creation is easy to control.

the paradigm shift happens when you wake up to your ancient nature as a creator of worlds. i don’t use that phrase romantically. i mean it very literally. Woman has been the birther of worlds since the beginning of time. why would you be any different? literal birth of a human being is just one aspect of this. you wield the fundamental capacity to shape a life, make choices, generate meaning, respond to Mystery, create relationships, worlds, work, beauty, culture. somewhere in your body, no matter how buried, waits the ancient wisdom that intuitively understands how to move unseen information (ideas, visions, desires, emotions, sensations, intuitive nudges) into the physical world. this is your creative power and it’s innate.

the problem is that almost everything outside of you has taught you your entire life that you’re powerless. many things are specifically designed to keep you distracted from your true nature because when you realize that you’re the active creator of your experience, you begin to not need all the old attachments, identities, products, beliefs, and stories coming from fear.

as i said before, a woman who knows she’s a creative force is a woman who won’t be easily controlled. and a woman who is uncontrollable has been feared for thousands of years in our patriarchal culture. why? because she embodies the power to give life and also take it away. she is the life-bestowing mother and the queen of death and destruction. she understands both are needed to maintain a specific harmony. and isn’t that the power we’ve attributed to god?

we don’t fear a bearded man in the sky. we fear Woman.

if you’re reading this, you know you’re not here to merely exist. you’re here to blaze a path that feels so true, so delicious, and so wholly you. when you reclaim your creative power you begin to embrace your totality, your light and darkness and everything in between. you start to respect the cyclical nature of creativity and see life, death, and rebirth as sacred. you begin to dance with your alchemical nature and learn how to transmute the old into something new and life-giving.

i know this can all sound very poetic and elusive and you’re probably like, “okay but how do i start?”

a good place to begin:

look to your relationship with your creativity and your body. how much you value and respect your creativity and body will tell you a lot. do you make time for your creative instincts to have space to breathe and room to roam free without forcing them into a specific shape? do you tend your body the way you would an altar?

the body and creativity are intrinsically connected. your body is the vessel that your creative energy flows down into, gestates deep within, and moves back out into the world in a new form. think of a woman trying to get pregnant and all the care and nourishment she’s probably giving her body to ensure the conception a healthy baby. it’s the same idea. when your body doesn’t feel resourced and tended, it’s difficult for the muse to want to hang out there long enough for ideas to take root.

this is just the first step in the spiral-shaped journey that is living as a creative force. the more you notice your relationship with your body and creativity and how one impacts the other, you’ll be surprised what you uncover and how that naturally leads to the next step for you. there’s no blueprint. there’s no one way. anyone telling you otherwise is someone to be cautious of. the whole point of reclaiming your nature as a creative force is to break the tendency to keep looking outside of yourself for answers. instead, start getting curious about what your inner world has been trying to tell you for weeks, months, maybe years.

here are some questions to be with. journal on them. walk around with them. come back to them again and again and see what emerges each time. your answers will change and that’s good. nothing about this exploration is static. let yourself go deeper and deeper over time.

How can my outer life emerge from my inner life instead of consuming or controlling it?

What happens when I stop treating myself as something to fix and begin relating to myself as a creator?

What happens when I live from the question, “what wants to be created through me?”

if as you were reading this something started to open up within you then you’re exactly the woman MYSTIQUE was designed for.

MYSTIQUE is a six-week seasonal, experimental space for women who want to live closer to their curiosity, creativity, and inner wildness. i want to make it so clear that this is not another space that feels like a rigid coaching program. i will not be handing you a blueprint or ten-step formula, so if that’s what you’re looking for then this isn’t the right space for you. MYSTIQUE is where we explore feminine creative life through real-life experimentation, sharing and reflection, ritual, and creating space for Mystery to reveal to us what’s alive and asking to be created next.

we begin september 20th.
