Long before I moved to Los Angeles to work at Extreme Studios as an artist at Image Comics, I’d longed to make children’s books (not exclusively…I’m always gonna make comics but making children’s books was on the list of TO DOs).
Pre-internet, it seemed like an impossible and unattainable goal. The comic book industry at least had Wizard Magazine and the Comics Reporter and Comic Shop News and other tomes of instruction which made the path to working in comics seem much more attainable. Since I broke in as a pro, I’ve been fortunate enough to have made many a children’s book but it’s almost always been for someone else’s Intellectual Property. Our ACTIONOPOLIS line, I’ve which I’m quite proud, were novels…some with spot illustrations and most without. We even got SCHOOL LIBRARY JOURNAL to love them…”...These high-energy texts and engaging characters will attract reluctant readers as well as fantasy fans.”
This time though we’re doing full picture books! Gorgeous illustrations from Chris Gugliotti, Drew Rausch, and Thomas Boatwright! This TO DO list is getting crossed off and we’re ready to go!
We hope you’ll go to the link below and give us a FOLLOW to learn when these books will debut in 2026! They’re all done and we can’t wait to share these glorious hardcovers with you. There’s something in each for everyone! Thanks!
Thanks, Monster Club! And don’t forget, it may be the Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa season but you can still listen to monster music! (it’s FREE too)
Happy Holidays!
