As I write this, we have such mixed feelings on 2025! So much went off the rails. Personal tragedies, cancer-fights, deaths of loved ones, Hollywood and the video games industries struggling (or more realistically many of the hard working folks in those industries…the companies themselves always seem to be fine)!
When we started Monster Forge in the pandemic, things in entertainment were booming. We were selling TV shows and movies…dreaming they’d get made but eventually all the industry turmoil caught up to us and those projects ceased to be. Thousands of hours down the drain with nothing to show for it. No more. Now we’re making it ourselves (with your help).
As AI creeps into our everything it’s even more important for us to be making our art and telling our stories and sharing that with our fellow humans. So while 2025 brought a lot of hardships it was also the year we started crowdfunding our own projects! Making our own stuff and getting it out in the world without waiting on someone else to either greenlight it or cancel it has been extremely rewarding. From just getting funded and turning ideas into reality, to earning a #ProjectWeLove on everything we’ve done, to our favorite part which is YOU….The Monster Club.
Finding out how many of you there are and hearing from you and building this out together has 100% being a bright spot in 2025!
We’ve made many books together (some on our own and sometimes teaming up with publishers like Titan Comics, Heavy Metal, Panick Entertainment and more), we put out goofball (but awesome) monster songs with some amazing artists like The Anti-Bodies, we launched Monster Forge Radio and The Horror Eternal podcast, we announced Sky Captain and Rocketeer toy fun at Comic-Con with our pals at Big Bad Workshop, and have a lot more announcements on the way in 2026!
It’s been a lot of work learning about fulfillment and shipping. Everything that goes into getting products made and off to the customer is new territory for us but we’re loving it. We know we’re behind on shipping with RETURN OF THE MONSTERS but everything looks so amazing you’ll hopefully forgive us a bit on that delay. It being our first campaign, we learned a lot.
That being said, The Explorer’s Guide to the Monstrous Cryptid Creatures of the United States starts shipping this coming week! So definitely getting faster! SO happy with how everything turned out!
The SWORD OF THE WAR-MONSTER campaign is wrapping up late pledges and several items have already been printed so everything in that campaign will be going out soon too! Again, getting faster at this :)
Monster Forge’s MonsterKnight! GhostBoy! Isle of Monsters! is launching soon! Our very first picture books! You’ve inspired us to take a NO SURRENDER approach and just MAKE STUFF! …and we’ve been doing exactly that! We also just got a #ProjectWeLove on this one too so we hope you’ll sign up to get notified! All three artists are doing some of the very best work of their careers!
