What I learned from Contact in the Desert

I’ve just returned from Contact in the Desert, which I attended to learn more about UFOs and related paranormal subjects as I embark on a novel to follow up on The Revelation. I had a table there and sold some books, too.

Perhaps because I closely follow news of disclosure and feel pretty up to date on the latest developments, I attended more talks and workshops on consciousness, virtual reality, the simulation theory of the universe, and other paranormal inquiries than gatherings about UFOs. It’s increasingly clear to me that the two subjects are closely related if not one and the same.

I was particularly impressed by the work of Thomas W. Campbell, the spiritual/religious insights of Dr. Rizwan Virk, whose books I plan to read, and the playful presentations of Canadian magician and podcaster, Chris Ramsay whose comments about the value of entertainment in sharing ideas struck a chord.

One thought that arose as I was listening to the latter’s talk had to do with the role the fungus that inhabits my brain may have to do with the nature of my thinking, and even with the topics that interest me. There are some interesting examples in nature of parasites and pathogens that control the behavior of their hosts (more on this in another post) and the idea compels me. In particular, I wonder how much having cocci meningitis (search it, the details are too grim for me to include here) might have affected the “vision” that accompanied my coma of 2021. I have done quite a few interviews on the subject, many of which are linked on my website’s media page. In addition to being “shown” a universe teeming with life (thus my renewed interest in aliens and disclosure) I was also shown the future of the human race.

Many other realizations about my life-long dance with Daoism and Chinese internal martial arts arose listening to some of the presentations at the conference. There are intersections that go beyond my mortal experiences (I have thrice died and been brought back). These include the emergence of special abilities and a number of experiences that defy logic or explanation.

It does seem that having such experiences often leads people in a religious or spiritual direction, or at least drives them to more deeply inquire about what life really is, how the universe really works, and what, in fact, is actually going on.
