I am thrilled to announce that my cabaret show, Fauxnique. So Relevant. is returning to the stage in a few weeks, this time for the Pride Cabaret at New Conservatory Theatre Center! Hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as “epic and intimate, a celebration of sequined glamour and soulful authenticity,” I must say, this one is pretty special, especially if you like record-nerd deep cuts with your gay cabaret. The brilliantly talented Katy Stephan joins me again as musical director & accompanist. My art bestie Kevin Clarke, fresh from his triumph with The Goat at Ashby Stage, offers his always-discerning directorial eye. Other special guests will grace the stage… The show runs June 18-20 at 7:30PM. Get your tickets. If you missed it before, now’s your chance (it sold out last time)! I can’t wait to see you there.
I had a splendid time in Seattle & SF with my new show How Do I Look? and I am absolutely overwhelmed with the love it received. I am deeply grateful for everyone who supported me - so many of you - thank you! The work came out of a heavy time, but my collaborators & presenters made the process an absolute joy. ODC Theater & On the Boards offered deep, vital support and really made me feel like the work was wanted, which, at the risk of sounding corny, was truly healing. My collaborators Jesse Hewit & Del Medoff gave me life. Audiences responded in ways that surprised me, moved me & reminded me that one’s most personal work is often the most resonant.
If you missed it, you can watch it through ODC Connect.
I would love to perform it again & again all over the place, so dear presenters, get in touch. The whole show fits in one bag.
Read about it here, here, & here.
