I’m making final edits on my upcoming novel, A Valley Girl Dilemma, a romantic fiction set in 1980s Saskatoon. Some might consider it historical, because apparently we’re a quarter century into the 2000s. I remember the 21st century as science fiction. Surely the 80s aren’t history. Cover reveal coming soon!

Get your costumes ready! When I announce my author reading events there will be prizes for those who come dressed for the iconic decade of big hair, shoulder pads, and fingerless lace gloves. Yes, I will, too.

Why set my story in the 1980s you ask (other than they’re fabulous). Because I cringe at the idea of writing about dating with cell phones and online matching. Write what you know. In this case, my dating experience. Besides, it’s fun to remember cola wars, K-tel music, hairstyling with mousse plus driers plus hairspray, and searching for jobs in a newspaper all set to an 80s soundtrack.

Soon, I’ll be recruiting folks willing to post a review of A Valley Girl Dilemma and create buzz in the leadup to launch. Contact me if you or someone you know would like an advance electronic copy to read in January/February and willing to post their review on or before release day.

If you enjoyed Star-Crossed Alliance enough to share on Amazon, Goodreads, or wherever you review books, point me to your post. I’ll email you a special gift: a copy of the original handwritten story opening circa 1993. You may not recognize it as the same story, but the heart of the romance never changed.
