In this episode, we talk about:
MAGA’s “demagogic crusade to reduce a Michigan-born Oxford and Columbia-educated medical doctor to a ‘terrorist’ cartoon.” Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is running in Michigan. He’s Muslim, and Republicans are hoping to scare even disillusioned Trump supporters into voting against El-Sayed.
El-Sayed’s response to Trump’s — let’s be kind and say suggestive — Truth about his vision for America vs El-Sayed’s.
We also discuss the scandal surrounding Max Miller’s campaign in Ohio.
Miller has been publicly accused by his ex-wife and past girlfriends of being physically abusive.
Miller’s responses to these accusations have been unhelpful, to say the least.
He seems completely blind to the fact that abused partners are always looking for ways to keep their abuser calm — even if that means pretending to be happy or to trust them.
Miller refused to leave his race and allow for another candidate to be named.
This seat is usually a safe one for Republicans, but things look shakier now.
Republicans didn’t really do much to push Miller out, and Dick and I discuss how this differs (or not) to Democrats’ response to rape allegations against Graham Platner (D) in Maine last month.
Politico reported this week that in fact, the White House told Ohio Republicans not to lean too hard on Miller to leave his race. Maybe that had to do with Miller’s high praise for Trump?
