Molly Smith · molly's edit

Hi hi hi! Hope you are all soaking in every drop of sunshine this Summer. I have bought a few new things for some trips- NYC and then headed to London, Berlin and Paris. So excited!!! Brainstorming on my packing situation….send tips.

Here’s what I’ve been into, watching, reading, buying and saving lately.

Summer Makeup + Skin

I’ve got my Summer makeup down and have been loving some new products. Yes, I did give in and buy the Chanel Les Beiges Eau De Teint (the one with the little beads and always sold out) and it’s so beautiful on the skin.

Day to day I have been using Isdin tinted sunscreen (says it protects against and repairs sun damage with Nobel Prize-winning, naturally-derived enzymes and a proprietary delivery system so sign me up). This was recommended by Violet Grey’s founder Cassandra Grey and she did not disappoint!

Then I go in with a bit of the Kosas concealer, Makeup By Mario softsculpt bronzing & shaping serum (obsessed with this stuff) or the Summer Friday’s bronzer butter balm (so creamy) and my never fails- the most glowy, skin perfecting blush- Olio e Osso in No 3 (also love the Merit blush in . Then I go over all of this with the Hourglass blush in Sublime Flush (you can’t go overboard with this stuff).

I also have been loving the Merit eyeshadow in studio for everyday.

My two favorite face sunscreens have been Ultra Violette and Good Weather Skin and been loving the COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing cream over them.

Also, this brush from Merit is superb. It’s perfect for the Summer Friday’s Bronzer butter balm (this stuff is so creamy) and any liquid blush.

Also, if you want the best makeup application ever- the Japanese makeup brushes by Hakuhhodo (specifically the Yachiyo tapered brushes) will deliver every time. They are expensive but they last (I’ve had mine since 2020). I have the medium and small tapered brushes. You will never go back!!

TRUST me on Josie Maran body butter. My favorite scent is Golden Hour (I love Amber). I smell myself all day, it leaves my skin sooooo soft and delicious.

Sezane

Sezane Summer drops have been so good. You can see me doing a little Sezane try on here. I ended up keeping the red hat and the loafers and I looove. The loafers are very cute with long black shorts or a skirt in the Summer and I am especially excited to wear them into Fall.

I also ordered this blouse that reminds me of Doen. This skirt is beautiful. And I love their silver ballet flats.

Two other Sezane looks that inspired me, love this top on Morgane Waquez and this skirt on Marie von Behrens-Felipe.

Flore Flore Esme Tank

I’ve been wearing my Flore Flore esme tank non stop. It really does have the best fit of all of my tanks. This is me wearing it to go on a dog walk but it’s so versatile and flattering. I want it in every color. Their t-shirts and long sleeves are great too, you can’t go wrong.

Books I Added to my TBR List

I was on such a roll earlier in the year but since Summer has started I have somehow slowed it way down. After finishing almost every Carly Fortune book (as someone who doesn’t usually read romance novels, I am also surprised at this), I got back into Theo of Golden which I am still working through but I like it so far. I’ve really leaned into light reads this Spring/Summer but ready to get back into it. I added the below to my TBR list, please let me know if you have read and recommend or don’t recommend!!

Very excited to see Claire Daverley came out with a new book (it dropped in the UK and I ordered it from Blackwell’s, US date is Feb 2027 I believe), I loved Talking at Night. Also, the UK book covers are always so much better!!

Geel Skort

I posted that I ordered this Geel skirt off of Poshmark and I am obsessed with it (it’s a skort). I found it on Revolve. It honestly goes with so much, I love it with an oversized vintage t-shirt.

Been loving the jewelry Roxanne Assoulin has been putting out for Summer (my necklace), I also want these purple drop earrings. And these perfect Vincent Boulevard sunnies. They just dropped a new collection and I love this pair as well.

Also looooove this necklace.

Summer Highlights

I’ve slowly been going blonder and I made the below inspo board for my hair stylist. Being blonde really is an accessory!! It adds contrast between so many of my outfits especially when I wear black. I lowkey want to chop it into a lob of some sort but I’m scared!! If you’ve been playing with the idea of Summer highlights, here’s your sign.

Tory Burch Ballet Flats

I loved the color of these Chanel ballet flats on Pernille Teisbaek and found a pair of Tory Burch flats that look very similar on The RealReal.

I’m going to snip off the Tory Burch charm because I think they will look cuter without but here is my version of Chanel (for now).

the Chanel pair

Found some cute options on TRR for you! Keep your eye out as some great colors come in and they are super affordable.

Such Brave Girls

I’ve been watching the British show, Such Brave Girls, on Hulu and it’s excellent. Hilarious and clever.

Acne Beverly Heels

The ACNE Beverly heels have been on my wishlist forever and I recently came across a nearly identical pair from Peche that I may have to pull the trigger on.

And these are the Peche pair! I love and am leaning towards the snake print to add a little something something. This kitten heel is just my kind of heel!!

Even more than these, I want the Prada Capretto kitten heel and I’m saying this so maybe they’ll manifest into my lap.

Maxine’s Heavenly Cookies

My friend recommended these cookies to me and I am now addicted. The birthday cake flavor is INSANE. I also really like the oatmeal flavor. I’ve only seen them at Whole Foods, only try them if you are prepared to crave one on a daily basis!!

Series of Aesthetic Manufacturing Bag

Discovered this brand on Instagram and love their No Mess bag. It’s so cool. They are handmade in Belgium and Spain.

Artists I’m Saving

I have been saving so many pieces by artist, Paula Querido, basically every time she comes up in my feed. Her pieces are colorful and feel like a Summer vacation with no phones, good books and lots of swimming.

Paula Querido

Also, love this piece by Scottish artist, Vivien McDermid.

Ann Patchett’s Ted Talk

Ann Patchett’s Ted Talk on the love of her life (reading). It made me cry?! I think I will always be so deeply nostalgic for a time with no phones. I also sometimes get overwhelmed with how much I want to read and learn in this life. (Thanks to Pandora Sykes for sharing on her Substack).

“Reading shines the light in the darkness of isolation so many people find themselves in.”

“Books have been my steadfast companions. My solace, my teachers, my joy. I can’t imagine what life would be without reading. And so pretty much every day, in every situation I find myself, I’m out there, sharing the good news. For a long time my love for books was more cloistered, less zealot, but in 2011, all of that changed. The two major bookstores in Nashville closed and after waiting around for someone else to open a bookstore, I decided to do it myself [Parnassus books]. This was not the fulfilment of a lifelong dream. It was more like… irritation. People love to tell me that bookstores are dead, that books themselves are hobbling towards the dustheap of cultural irrelevance. Heresy, I say. Books are the rock on which I built my church.”

“I’ve come to believe if you’re interested in living in a society where people read, it’s also your responsibility to cultivate readers.”

Digestive Bitters & Chewable Ginger

If there is one thing I know, it is nausea!! With Celiacs and Endometriosis and some other autoimmune things happening, I ALWAYS have these with me. I take the digestive bitters before I eat and they have actually been life changing. The chewable ginger is magic and works almost immediately.

Other things of note-

As always, I am continuing to browse the internet for you (myself) and update my SU26 wishlist on a daily basis.

Thanks for reading x
