Molly Moorkamp · MM Weekly

Including this inspiration image for a second week in a row because I love it so much.

Happy Saturday everyone! It’s bright and sunny in NYC. Hopefully it’s similar wherever you are. I have Oprah on Keke Palmer’s podcast on in the background and it feels like the 90’s in my house in the very best way. So much to discuss this weekend, let’s jump in!

Two of your favorite MM prints of all time, Romilly and Dunemere. Both styled with our linen Diane pants.

This is always my favorite mail day of the year. I race to UPS the day our new printed pashminas deliver. They take eight weeks to produce, plus a week of shipping from Italy. By the time they arrive, I have to refresh myself on which we designed! They’re like beautifully folded pieces of collectible candy to me. They measure 53” wide, so….incredibly large. Which is extremely impressive because they have a hand rolled hem. That’s almost six yards of hemming that an incredibly talented seamstress hand rolls and finishes. Each scarf.

Two of our newest prints, Sankaty Floral and our brand new Bonaparte Floral

I’m honestly impressed the amount of scarves we produce only takes eight weeks. And yes, we choose each contrast rolled hem color. A hand rolled hem separates the high quality pashminas from the (machine stitched) lower quality produced ones. We have four new prints available to ship immediately, as well as a restock of your favorite sold out pink and green floral from early spring. Shop before they sell out!

I've needed to reshape our Louise shift shoulder slightly FOREVER and finally had a proper fitting Friday. Perhaps a sneak peek of a dream pant coming soon...

We had a great, long fitting with our professional fit model on Friday. If you’re not sure what that is, a professional fit model is one of the most invaluable tools a clothing company can have. They’re not a traditional campaign or runway model. They have a fixed set of measurements for production and development fitting. Usually a little shorter and not a size zero. They’re also as skilled as a pattern maker. They can spot and feel every fit issue. When I designed at RL, I ran model fittings all day. They’re really expensive, so you have to squeeze in fitting as many pieces as you can at once. At RL, we of course could afford a full day of fittings multiple times a week. At MM, we invest in a production fit model because it makes the fit of our garments really extraordinary, from my industry opinion. I can’t wait to show you all the new product categories we’re developing later this season.

Flower prep for Sunday dinner on 28th St early this morning.

I encourage you to take a spin on the All Products section of our website this weekend. I don’t think the website has ever been so beautifully balanced with a variety of gorgeous product. We worked so hard behind the scenes over the past year to expand our webstock offering. I really am pleased where we landed. From scarves to cashmere, dresses and pants, there’s something for everyone. There’s also a handful of great pieces on sale for the next few days as well. Go treat yourself to a little something!

xx,

MM
