We still have 37 perfectly good days of summer left, and I am already mentally rearranging my closet.
But here’s the thing: Fall is my season. I have never been particularly good at pretending otherwise.
Give me a crisp morning, a blazer thrown over something slightly too feminine, a suede shoe, a good coat, and suddenly I’m convinced I need to cancel every plan and move to the English countryside.
So, while I’m not quite ready to give up late summer dinners or bare legs just yet, I am beginning to work a few fall pieces into the rotation. Not a full seasonal overhaul—just those little additions that make your wardrobe feel fresh again.
Consider this the soft launch of fall.
My full Fall Musts are coming later this month, but for now, here are five things I’m excited to get my hands on.
First up: the coat. A great coat is one of those pieces that can carry an entire outfit, and the one I’ve pulled for this edit does exactly that. It has that effortless, throw-it-on-and-you’re-dressed quality I love, while still feeling polished and considered. It’s the kind of piece I know I’ll be reaching for all season long.
Next, the satin tank. I love this one for the way it bridges summer and fall. It’s feminine and a little bit luxe, but incredibly easy to style. Wear it now with denim, then layer it under a jacket or cardigan once the temperatures drop. One of those pieces that does a lot more than you’d expect.
Then there’s the slingback flat. This is the shoe that instantly makes everything feel a little more pulled together. Feminine without being fussy, classic with just enough personality. I love it with denim, a skirt, or paired with tailoring for that slightly undone, slightly polished balance.
The classic shoulder bag might be my favorite kind of fall accessory. The one I chose for this edit feels timeless but not boring, and has that quality where it can quietly become part of your everyday uniform. It’s the finishing piece that makes even the simplest outfit feel intentional.
And finally, mixed metal earrings. A small detail, but one I think makes a big difference. I love the mix of metals for fall because it feels modern without trying too hard, and these are the kind of earrings you can put on with absolutely everything. Consider them the punctuation mark at the end of the outfit.
This week’s camera roll features a lace set try-on for the special project I keep teasing, samples, lots of samples, and the boots I’ve been wearing on repeat. Mine are vintage, but linking a similar pair here.
Also shared my long overdue Italy guide to IG yesterday, linking here in case you missed it. And even more details on my trip here!
xx, Molly
