We’ve been serving as U.S.-based missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators for the past three years—and it’s been an incredible blessing. One of our biggest dreams was to serve God together as a family, and by His grace, that’s what we’ve been doing. We’re so grateful. But today, we’re sharing something we’ve never shared publicly before: the story of how God began calling our family to Nigeria. And it all happened in a rhythm we couldn’t ignore: Two days. Two weeks. Two months. One calling. Let’s rewind to March of 2024. I had just wrapped up a busy travel season, speaking at churches and schools about God’s work through Bible translation. Over and over again, I kept getting asked the same two questions: “Are you serving overseas?” & “When and where are you going?” My answer was always the same: “Wherever the Lord sends me, I’ll go.” And I meant it. Then one morning, in prayer, I felt an unexpected unrest in my soul. I asked God why—and instead of giving me answers, He reminded me who I am in Him. That I’m loved. That I’m made for boldness. That I’m someone who runs into the fire when others run away. Then I heard something clear and direct: “What about Nigeria?” It hit hard. I tried to brush it off… but I couldn’t. For the next two days, it echoed inside me. But I didn’t say a word to my wife.

Exactly two days later, she woke up and said, “I had a weird dream.” She described a Nigerian man, dressed in flowing white garments, wrapping his arms around us like a shield—radiating peace and wisdom. That’s when I told her what I had heard in prayer. She was intrigued… but not convinced. Then, two weeks later, we were at a missions celebration. I started chatting with two older men. When I asked where they were from, they both said the same thing: “We were born and raised in Nigeria.” Another confirmation. Two months after that, on the way to a family camping trip, we made a quick stop at Chick-fil-A. We grabbed one kid’s meal. Inside the bag? A kids’ card game…from Nigeria. We just looked at each other. And my wife said, “Okay. I think God is trying to tell us something.” From that point on, it was like the floodgates opened—more stories, more dreams, more divine encounters. Nigerian missionaries. Testimonies. Conversations we never initiated. And the wildest part? We hadn’t told a single soul. God was clearly speaking.

We want you right there with us. Our brand-new vlog kicks off today (tonight; it’s been a long day🫨)—counting down the days before we take off to Nigeria with short daily videos sharing how God’s been opening doors from the moment we said “YES” to His call, all the way to boarding that flight.
