Every widow who finds Modern Widows Club® The Movement for Widow Care (MWC) walks through the door carrying a different load.

Some arrive with savings, a supportive family, and a job that offers bereavement leave. Others arrive with none of that — young children at home, no income of their own, and a legal and financial system that wasn’t built with them in mind.

Our mission has always been to make sure every widow, regardless of where she’s starting from, can find her way into the Wisterhood of sufficient and significant support.

But “accessible” is a word that’s easy to say and hard to deliver on. Our Board and stakeholders don’t take it for granted — it’s a conversation we return to often, because the barriers keep shifting.
