I provide insights from researchers and experts, dispelling the idea that male loneliness is simply the result of men refusing to open up, and exploring how changing social structures, traditional expectations of masculinity, and the disappearance of male-centered gathering spaces have made connection harder.
Why Read It? You’ll gain a more empathetic understanding of why many men struggle with loneliness and discover practical, low-pressure ways men can rebuild friendships, strengthen their social lives, and create the kind of relationships research consistently links with greater happiness and well-being.

The U.S. national debt crossed $40 trillion this week, a remarkably scary number. I hosted a Substack Live conversation to discuss what this means to families.

This article explains how AI is making scams more convincing while surging data breaches are giving criminals more personal information to exploit. Why Read It? You’ll learn simple steps that can make your family harder to scam—including slowing down, independently verifying suspicious claims, freezing credit, and knowing how to respond without shame or panic if someone you love becomes a victim.

This is part two of a real-world facilitation of the Fair Play system. In our first episode, we learned about Brian and Lucy McAfee’s home dynamics.
You likely found that, when it came to the division of labor and obstacles couples face, some of their challenges are challenges you face in your family. We then discussed the guiding principles of the Fair Play system and started working through it.

“In the span of about 20 minutes, I lost my wife, my best friend, and my grip on life. Finding it again took a lot longer.”
I’ll confess, I typically don’t read articles (or books) like these. I spend most of my time focusing on utilitarian reading. I don’t know why I opened the post to read the short story, but I’m so glad I did, and you will be too.

I saw a video of the President holding up a newspaper headline that read “Prescription drug prices record sharpest drop in more than 60 years.”
I must confess, I didn’t believe him. But I was wrong. While overall medical costs continued to rise, he was right: prescription drug prices fell by 3.1 percent. And then he kept talking.
He tried to take credit using an article that gave much of the credit to Medicaid changes made during the final year of the Biden Administration. They even posted the article on the White House website.
Whatever. At least prices are down. Click here to read the post.
