Hello from Bangkok!
My sister Trine and I flew with Air India from Copenhagen via New Delhi, and for once, everything worked out in our favor. The flight from Copenhagen wasn’t full, so we each had a whole row to ourselves. Getting proper sleep on a long-haul flight makes all the difference, and I woke up somewhere over India feeling completely refreshed.
The food on the flight from Copenhagen was Indian, and surprisingly good. I had a paneer dish I’d happily order again at a restaurant, and Trine went for a chicken curry that was also really good, though a bit spicier than she had expected.
We had a couple of hours in New Delhi and spent most of it in the Encalm Lounge, which I could access with my Dragon Pass. The food there was great too, so we had yet another meal and a cup of masala chai before boarding the flight for the final stretch to Bangkok.
We landed around 9:30pm, a little tired but in good spirits. We took a Grab to our Airbnb and then headed straight out to find something to eat. We had seen on Google Maps that there was an all-you-can-eat BBQ place further down our street, open until 3am, so that pretty much decided it.
The restaurant is semi-outdoor, with tables set up under a roof, and we could smell the grilled meat long before we got there. Lots of grilled meat, great sauces, and non-alcoholic drinks included. Exactly what we needed, and it feels so good to be back in Bangkok.
