Eid Mubarak! With the festivities of Eid al-Fitr bringing us all together, we wanted to take a moment to look back at what has been our most ambitious and heart-filling month yet. Ramadan remains our absolute favorite time of the year; it is a season defined by connection, and while we have always loved bringing the tech community together across Australia, 2026 was the year Muslims in Tech went truly global.

We are so proud to say that this year, the Muslims in Tech table grew longer than ever before. We broke our fasts across borders, moving from a local Australian tradition to hosting iftars in major hubs around the world. Our community now spans one massive global family, five incredible cities, and two continents, with our gatherings reaching from Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane to our new international chapters in New York and Toronto. This growth proves that our shared values and passion for innovation know no boundaries.

TurboQuant is Google’s new algorithm that optimizes large language models by compressing the key-value cache, preventing redundant recomputation. This breakthrough delivers an 8x speed boost and a 6x reduction in memory usage without sacrificing accuracy. By enabling high-quality performance on edge devices, TurboQuant allows powerful AI to run locally and securely without relying on the cloud.

Anthropic has introduced Auto Mode in research preview, granting Claude the ability to perform tasks independently. This feature includes integrated security layers designed to block harmful actions and neutralize prompt injection attempts, ensuring autonomous operations remain safe and reliable.

Composer 2 is the latest coding model from Cursor, delivering elite, "frontier-level" programming capabilities. This update pairs high-tier performance with a significant reduction in token costs, making advanced AI-assisted development more accessible and affordable.
