I rise with prayer on my tongue. I go looking for God in mourning, in midnight hours, crying out with my decree. It isn’t an act of duty, but of devotion. An embodiment of what it means to be a woman on the front lines for her household.
When war comes knocking, I adorn myself in the armor of my feminine strength — that which is soft yet unwavering.
My covering is a ritual, a form of resistance and a canceling of every assignment that the enemy has intended for harm and destruction. I walk in divine authority and favor, a keeper of my home and of my family, claiming peace where the enemy intended chaos and conflict.
I used to fear that what I did was not enough for my household. The constant mothering and nurturing and tending — and yet I felt like it wasn’t amounting to anything. But a recent revelation revealed to me that my assignment is to be a frontline woman for my household.
A frontline woman is a force. Her home is her haven, her sanctuary. Her family is sacred to her. She is guided by her feminine intuition. Her discernment is vital for recognizing disruption, for navigating through spiritual warfare. She often finds herself in battle against the enemy, which is why she must spend time armoring herself in God’s word to understand the tactics of the spirits she fights up against.
She is fierce in her devotion. Water through warfare. A tender. She anoints her household with oil. She intercedes. When the world is heavy, she turns to God. When the battles seem unyielding, she clings to the hem. She seeks peace through prayer and supplication.
A wise woman builds her house, the Word says. She looks well to the ways of her home. She looks well to the ways of her heart, her body, her mind, her soul in order to look well to that which resides in others.
God is her constant, through and through. Because she carries what most cannot see. Her heart holds and heals burdens too heavy to name. And in the persistence of warfare, her home and her heart remain covered in her steadfastness. She pours love and faith, by all means.
