For the last few years, we’ve talked about GLP-1 medications in terms of one outcome:
Weight loss.
It’s understandable. It’s visible. It’s measurable. And it’s become the headline attached to medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, and Mounjaro.
But what if that’s causing us to miss the bigger story?
This week, at the Obesity Action Coalition’s Your Weight Matters conference, one of the themes Ted Kyle explored was how GLP-1 medications aren’t just changing obesity treatment. They’re changing society.
That’s a remarkable idea, and worth considering.
Because if that’s true, then these medications are doing much more than helping people lose weight. They’re changing how we think about obesity, health, chronic disease, and what successful treatment should actually look like.
I’m excited that we’re able to continue that conversation just days later.
On Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. ET, Ted joins us on Weight & Measure alongside Dr. Katherine Saunders, one of the nation’s leading obesity medicine physicians, for what I think will be one of our most thought-provoking conversations yet.
We’ll start with a deceptively simple question:
Are GLP-1s just weight loss shots?
The answer isn’t nearly as simple as it sounds.
If you’ve ever wondered whether we’ve been thinking about these medications too narrowly, I hope you’ll join us Tuesday evening.
Live Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. ET on the On The Pen GLP-1 News YouTube channel.
And check out today’s brand new audio only episode to hear all about the 2026 Your Weight Matters conference - including commentary by Dr. Robyn Pashby, Dr. Renee Rogers, Registered Dietician Gianna Beasley and first time attendee - and TikTok’s own - Jay Hutchinson.
