Autonomous delivery robots are becoming an increasingly common part of urban logistics across the U.S., but the regulations governing them remain highly fragmented. While many states classify Personal Delivery Devices (PDDs) as pedestrians, others have adopted different rules or none at all, resulting in varying limits on speed, weight, and where the robots can operate. As deployments expand, the lack of consistent regulation is emerging as one of the biggest challenges to scaling autonomous last-mile delivery nationwide.

Voi Technology reported its strongest quarter to date, with Q2 2026 net revenue rising 47% YoY to €68.8m, while adjusted EBITDA nearly doubled to €19.7m and EBIT reached €9.9m. The company also increased vehicle profit by 56% to €44.1m, driven by stronger unit economics, higher revenue per vehicle, and continued expansion across key European markets including Paris and London. Over the last twelve months, Voi generated €210.3m in revenue, reinforcing its path toward sustained profitability.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport has introduced its first dedicated parking zone for Bolt e-scooters and e-bikes, making it easier for staff and passengers to complete first- and last-mile journeys. Located near the main employee entrance, the facility is expected to benefit workers travelling during early morning and late-night shifts when public transport is limited. The parking zone supports Bolt’s 2k e-scooters and 150 e-bikes operating across Liverpool, with the airport saying capacity can be expanded if demand grows.

Veo has officially launched its shared micromobility service in Salt Lake City, deploying more than 1k electric scooters under a new five-year operating agreement with the city. The fleet includes both Veo’s standing Astro scooters and seated Cosmo scooters, with half of the vehicles featuring seated designs to improve accessibility for a wider range of riders. To mark the launch, Veo is offering up to 45 minutes of free rides per day through the end of July, while eligible residents can also access discounted fares through the company’s Veo Access program.

Specialized has introduced the Levo R Ultralight, a premium electric mountain bike priced at $13k and weighing a claimed 18.8 kg (41.4 lb), more than 5 lb lighter than the standard S-Works Levo R. The lightweight build pairs a 600Wh interchangeable battery with high-end components, including carbon-spoke wheels, Trickstuff brakes, and a Fox 36SL fork, while retaining the bike’s full-power motor. The launch targets riders seeking a lighter, more agile eMTB without sacrificing power or performance.

  • A 2026 peer-reviewed study examines sustainable intra-campus micromobility at an Ecuadorian university, using multinomial logit and mixed logit models to analyze students’ preferences for bicycles and e-scooters. The authors find that travel time, infrastructure quality, safety, and vehicle availability significantly influence mode choice, while user preferences vary across different groups. The study concludes that expanding protected cycling infrastructure, improving vehicle access, and integrating micromobility into campus transport planning could substantially increase the adoption of sustainable travel modes.

  • A 2025 peer-reviewed study assesses micromobility infrastructure in Poland from the perspective of electromobility development, proposing a framework to evaluate both cycling infrastructure and facilities for personal transportation devices (PTDs). The authors find that well-designed micromobility infrastructure, supported by dedicated cycling networks, parking facilities, and integration with public transport plays a crucial role in reducing car dependency and accelerating electromobility adoption. The study concludes that investing in connected, high-quality infrastructure is essential to support sustainable urban mobility and the continued growth of shared and personal micromobility.

Canyon has introduced a new V2X-enabled e-bike concept designed to communicate with nearby vehicles and road infrastructure, helping improve rider visibility and safety. Developed with technology partners including BMW and Qualcomm, the prototype uses connected mobility technology to warn cyclists and drivers of potential collision risks, particularly at intersections and blind spots. The concept highlights how connected bicycles could become an integral part of future intelligent transport systems, extending vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology beyond cars to micromobility.

From Rivian x ALSO and Mercedes-AMG Petronas x N+ Bikes to Porsche x Rotwild, BMW x 3T, and Audi x Fantic, automotive brands are increasingly bringing their engineering expertise to the e-bike industry. These collaborations blend performance, advanced materials, connected technology, and distinctive design, producing premium electric bikes that appeal to both cycling enthusiasts and car fans. As automakers expand beyond four wheels, partnerships with bike manufacturers are helping redefine what high-end urban mobility can look like.

The new Ride Review guide highlights the essentials every e-bike rider should consider before heading out, from checking local regulations and planning charging stops to carrying the right safety gear. It also recommends key accessories including a certified helmet, a sturdy lock, repair kit, and navigation tools to improve both safety and convenience. As e-bikes continue to grow in popularity, a little preparation can go a long way in making every ride safer, smoother, and more enjoyable.

Segway has revealed plans to expand its e-bike lineup with two new models launching later this year, including a street-legal next-generation Xyber. Unlike the current Xyber, which blurs the line between an e-bike and a light electric motorcycle, the new version will support Class 1, 2, and 3 riding modes to comply with e-bike regulations in more markets. The company says the new platform will combine the Xyber’s signature design with greater everyday practicality, while a second all-new e-bike is also in development as Segway continues to grow its North American portfolio.
