When I was in the third grade (2001) I was given a journal with prompts that would appeal to an adolescent millennial girl. One of the prompts was to “Write a Love Letter to a Secret Someone”.
I, with a debilitating level of shyness, and having absolutely zero experience, decided to write a blanket letter “Dear To all the boys I’ve loved before”.
I swear to god this is true, and, while I have no way to actually prove it to you, I do have a photo of the letter, in my 9 year old handwriting, angrily pleading with said boys to “stop that girls are icky act and just ask me out dammit” (yeah, I was a bad girl).
And while Jenny Han might have done a lot more with the title then I have (and god, do I love what she did), I do want it on record that I wrote my own “To All the Boys” long before Jenny (maybe. I actually don’t know what she was up to in 2001).
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, I would like to introduce a series cataloging every single romantic interaction (failed, and otherwise) I have ever had.
Enjoy.
