Summer eclipses are nearing, falling on the new and full moons of August. Beginning Wednesday the 12th, this is no ordinary new moon phase, and no simple transition in one day from Cancer to Leo. As the light of the sun is fully obscured, the reaction from the emotional waters of Cancer hitting the spirited fire of Leo will form a vital vapor. The intensity is meant to be felt and absorbed as a catalyst for emerging from a past sense of self into who we really are.
The symbols of the lunar mansions (areas of the sky) where this planetary potency hails, are the snake and the throne. We’re being asked to confront what has squeezed us in its coils for far too long, what has constricted and held us in immovable and unbreathable conditions. In order to sit upon the throne of our genuine nature, we have to wriggle out of the constraint to cross the threshold from limitation to liberation.
