Over the last few weeks I’ve written about what actually counts when you’re measuring podcast reach and not building your listenership on borrowed ground. The waitlist was launched and the first wave of the foundation cohort is onboarding now. They’re a small group of independent podcasters who’ve read those posts and led with their curiosity to find out more.
I’m grateful that they’re here, and if you’ve been in the cohort from the start: thank you.
The product works, but there are things I know I want to build that aren’t built yet (and are on the list), and there are things I don’t know I need to build that foundation members will almost certainly surface in the coming weeks. That’s the point of launching in this way, and I’m looking forward to learning more about how I can support my community.
This foundation cohort model of offering the hard cap on numbers, price freeze, direct access to me, and a genuine say in where the roadmap goes allows me to work with the people who are betting on the direction, if not the finished product, which is perfect for a tool built around creator ownership.
The waitlist is still open for wave two. So if this arc has been relevant to how you think about your podcast, Podbite is here and I’ll be continuing to write more about this space.
I’m looking forward to learning and sharing with you about what people are actually doing with it, what’s working, and what has surprised me.
Stay curious,
— Michele
