You were aware you shared a problem with your partner and that this could cause a fight. You thought it best to leave the scene.
You chose flight, thinking that was best.
You avoided confrontation and all the pain and damage that confrontation usually causes and that feels good to you.
But the problem still remains between you both. For you, that doesn't feel so good.
OR
You decided fight was best.
The problem should be tackled here and now. You fought. You won. That felt right. Your victory felt good.
But then you noticed your opponent.
That's my partner, your inner voice reminds you.
They're hurt. They look humiliated – down on worth and out of power.
They're defeated. They're obviously suffering the pain of loss.
You felt good from winning and the fighting stopped. The conflict ended. Problem gone. You won and that felt right.
But you've noticed your opponent looking seriously harmed. You felt right to fight.
But do you still feel good?
